Charles William "Bill" Patton, 85, of Foothills Dr., Morganton, NC died Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at Grace Heights. Born June 2, 1924 in Burke County, he was the son of the late Carl William Patton and Zora Mae Patton. He was a WWII Army Veteran and a member of Glen Alpine United Methodist Church.Charles is survived by a grandson, Charlie Patton of Morganton; step-brother, Charles Tate, of Hickory; and daughter-in-law, Cindy Evans, of Morganton.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jo Reep Patton; and sons, Carl and Mark Patton.Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 11, 2009 at Glen Alpine Cemetery with Rev. Andy Evans officiating. Mr. Patton will be available for viewing from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., Friday at Sossoman Funeral Home. Sossoman Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
