Charlie Ruben Rogers, Jr., 81, of Newport News, VA died Wednesday, October 25, 2006 at Riverside Convalescent Center following a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Raleigh, NC on March 26, 1926 and was a son of the late Rev. Charles R. Rogers, Sr. and Candis Pierce Rogers. Mr. Rogers was a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II and worked at the Newport News Ship Building for 36 years until his retirement in 1987.
He is survived by his son, Charles William Rogers; a sister, Rosa Clark; and nephews, Donald E. Clark, Ronnie T. Clark, and Joe Rogers.
