Christina Ann Campbell Morrow

Christina Ann Campbell Morrow, 62, of Morganton, NC died Wednesday, April 23, 2014. Born in Burke County, NC on November 2, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Hugh Gene Campbell and Shirley Ailene McGalliard Campbell. Christina was a member of Smart’s Grove Baptist Church and also attended Victory Community Assembly of God. She never met a stranger and dearly loved her family, friends, and animals. She shared her faith in God with everyone she met.Christina is survived by her daughter, Claudia Morrow Vaughn and her husband, David Vaughn, of Shelby, NC; grandchildren, Billy Glenn, Ashley Smith, Alyssa Glenn, Faith Vaughn, and David Vaughn, Jr.; a great-grandson, J. J. Glenn; siblings, Eddie Gene Campbell and his wife, Karen Renee, Alan Campbell, Karen S. Campbell, all of Morganton; her canine companion, Purdie; and a large extended family and friends.In addition to her parents, Christina was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Betty Coates Campbell.The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, April 27, 2014 at Smarts Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Lewis, the Rev. Mike Whisnant, and the Rev. Dale Welch officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center where the body will remain until placed in the church thirty minutes prior to the funeral.
