Christine Bolick Bush

Christine Bolick Bush, 93, of Woodbine Terrace in Morganton died Monday, September 20, 2010 at her residence following an extended illness. Born August 25, 1917 in Burke County, she was a daughter of the late Ernest Owen Bolick and Catherine Elizabeth Cook Bolick. Christine was a member of First United Methodist Church. She and her husband owned and operated Valdese Printing Company, and both were avid rock hounds. Christine loved to travel and work in her yard.She is survived by a brother, Norman Bolick and wife, Carolyn, and a sister, Peggy Bolick Brendle, all of Morganton; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, Christine was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Bush; brother, Ned Bolick; sister, Verdia B. Goodnight; and a brother-in-law, Denver Brendle.A private family cryptside service will be held at Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum with Rev. Dr. Sydnor Thompson, III and Rev. Tito Madrazo officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 1721 Enon Rd., Valdese, NC 28690. Sossoman Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
