Now her work on earth has ended and the path of life is trod, now her soul is sweetly resting in the loving arms of God. The angels of heaven escorted Mrs. Christine Largent Wright to her heavenly home on the morning of July 23, 2017.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years Mr. Herbert L. Wright Sr. and her parents Phifer Largent and Mary Jane Michaux Largent. In addition, she was preceded in death by 10 brothers and 6 sisters.
Her family circle includes her children Mary Wright of Morganton, Herbert Wright Jr. (Theresa) of Vine Grove, Kentucky, Billie Michelle Wright Greene (Andre) of Morganton, and Constance Wright Richardson (Rev. Samuel) of Morganton; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and dear friends.
She was a lifelong member of Slades Chapel AME Zion Church where she served as Director of the Usher Board for many years. She also served on the Christian Education Board, attended Sunday School, Missionary Society, Stewardess Board as well as other committees of the church until her health declined. She retired from Broughton Hospital after 30 years of service as a Health Care Technician supervisor.
Home going celebration for Mrs. Christine L. Wright is Saturday July 29, 2017 at Slades Chapel AME Zion Church. The family will receive friends from 1 to 1:50 pm followed by the funeral at 2:00.
