Christine Pearson Brown

Christine Pearson Brown, 90, a resident of Brian Center Hickory East died Sunday, December 16, 2018.  Mrs. Brown was born August 9, 1928 in Transylvania County to the late Rev. William Lee Pearson and Georgia Olphelia Tinsley Pearson.  She was a member of East Valdese Baptist Church and a former member of Antioch Baptist Church where she loved singing in the choir.  She was known by family and friends for her great culinary skills.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Hassel Brown; brothers, Homer and LaVern Pearson; and sisters, LeNora Morgan, Venoia Dodson, and Betty Flowers.

Mrs. Brown is survived by her children, Timothy Brown and wife, Lydia of Connelly Springs, Sandra Moon and friend, “Fox” of Burnsville, and Mark Brown and wife, Patsy of Morganton; grandchildren, Chasity Whisenant, Zachary Brown and wife, Audry, Whitney Brown, Alyssa Moon, Rebekah Phillips and husband, “Bo”, Jamison Moon; and five great-grandchildren.  Also surviving are sisters, Gladys Pickelsimer of Newberry, SC, Edith Taylor of Hendersonville, NC and Wilma Black and husband, Jim of Morganton; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 18 at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Charlie Crump officiating.

The family would like to thank the staff of Brian Center East for their loving care of Christine during her stay there.
