Christopher Auguste Blanton, 55, of Bessemer City, NC died Tuesday, October 15, 2024.

Born in Burke County, NC on September 24, 1969, he was the son of Jerleen Elizabeth Carswell Blanton and the late Charles Ray Blanton. Christopher was a member of Burkemont Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Freedom High School and loved attending games. He enjoyed cooking, especially baking cakes and pies. He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and loved wrestling. He was also a fan of the UNC Tarheels.

Christopher is survived by his mother and his step-brother, Lewis Blanton; uncles, Jim Carswell, Johnny Carswell, and David Carswell; aunt, Judy Morrow; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

In addition to his father, Christopher was preceded in death by a brother, Benji Blanton; and sister, Debbie Blanton.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m., Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Mark Pridgen and Rev. Dr. Eddy Bunton officiating. Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made to Northside Community Church, 1607 Beaver Pond Road, Rocky Mount, NC 27084.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
