Clara Carpenter Dale

Clara Carpenter Dale, 84, of Morganton, NC went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, February 10, 2016.  Born in Lincoln County, NC on November 3, 1931, she was the daughter of the late John D. Carpenter and Ivy Etta Willis Carpenter.  Clara was a member of El Bethel Baptist Church where she was active in the Sunday school, a member of the Day Mission Group, and was a member of the Senior Adult Choir.  She retired from Broughton Hospital and loved to cook at family gatherings.

Clara is survived by her sons, Robin Alexander Dale and his wife, Teresa, and Ronald Wade Dale, all of Morganton; grandchildren, Dana Thompson and her husband, Cameron, Lori Gena Brienzi and her husband, Carl, and Alexis Dale; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Everette Carpenter and his wife, Charlene; sisters, Lou Carpenter Causby and her husband, Bennett, and Betty Jo Carpenter Style; numerous nieces and nephews; and a daughter-in-law, Nita Dale.

In addition to her parents, Clara was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Alexander Dale, Jr.; a son, Rex Allen Dale; brothers, Paul Reece Carpenter, Hubert Mosie Carpenter, and J. C. Carpenter; and sisters, Eva Lauren Carpenter Hoyle, Frankie Jane Carswell-Beame, Willie Mae Saulman-Bradshaw, and Helen Mary C. Brittain.

The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 p.m., Saturday, February 13, 2016 at El Bethel Baptist Church.  The funeral will be held at the church at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Ron Cooper officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
