Clara Dula Tallent, 93, of Morganton, NC passed away, Friday, August 19, 2022. Born on September 27, 1928, she was the daughter of the late George and Lenora Luckadoo. Clara loved her plants and had a green thumb. She was a member of Burkemont Baptist Church for a number of years, then South Mountain Baptist Church where her second husband was the pastor. She was currently a member of Cross Memorial Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and was a member of WMU. Clara worked at Shadowline for many years and Burand’s Clothing.
Clara is survived by her children, Steve Dula (Kathy), Ronny Dula (Gail), Patty Dula, Clemson, SC; grandchildren, Brian Dula (Gina), Mark Dula, Ben Dula (Becky), Angie Rhodes (Chris), great-grandchildren, Peyton Dula, Franklin Dula, Megan Dula, Luke Rhodes, Ava Rhodes, Ryan Adcox; stepdaughters, Glenda English, Edith Tallent; 4 step-grandchildren; 9 step great-grandchildren; brother, Bobby Luckadoo (Doris), Kingsport, TN.
In addition to her parents, Clara is preceded in death by her first husband, William “Bill” Dula; second husband, Rev. Howard Tallent; brother, Billy Luckadoo; sisters, Ruth Luckadoo McDonald, Nadean Luckadoo Carter; stepdaughter, Miriam Tallent.
The family will receive friends from 1pm until 2pm, Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at Cross Memorial Baptist Church. The funeral will be held in the church at 2pm with the Dr. Jeff Beach officiating. Burial will follow at Burkemont Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to Cross Memorial Baptist Church.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
