Clarence M. Robinson

Clarence M. Robinson, 84, of Park St. in Morganton, NC died Sunday, February 8, 2009 at Carolina Rehab Center of Burke in Connelly Springs, NC following a period of declining health. He was born March 25, 1924 in Yancey County, NC, and was a son of the late Luther M. Robinson and Sally Bergin Robinson. Clarence was a member of North Morganton Baptist Church, and the former co-owner of Morganton Tire Store.He is survived by a brother, Charles Edward Robinson, Sr. and wife, Norma, of Burnsville, NC; sister-in-laws, Linda McConnell of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Ada Hendon and Sadie Turner, both of Jacksonville, FL, Genevieve Gorman of Owensboro, KY, and Dorothy Robinson of Morganton, NC; 5 nieces, Darlene Hill, Kim Mercado, Carroll Weisloger, Betty Spicer and Angela Woody; and 5 nephews., Bobby Murphy, David Murphy Jimmy Turner, Charles Robinson and Ervin Robinson.In addition to his parents, Clarence was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Edith Robinson; and a brother, Lloyd Robinson.The family will receive friends Thursday, February 12, 2009 from 1:00 p.m. till 1:45 p.m. with the funeral services to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Baker and his brother-in-law Mac McConnell officiating. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park.
