Claude Arnold Brown, 75 of Morganton, NC passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2018. He was born April 29, 1942 in Burke County, NC and was the son of the late Roby E. Brown and Laura Ann Griffin Brown. Claude was a wonderful family man. His prize jewel was his grandchildren. He worked for Drexel Heritage for 37 years. Claude was an avid outdoorsman and loved to camp and go boating. He was a member of Conway’s Chapel Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters, Sue Buff and Mary Charlotte Dale.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years Brenda Joyce Curtis Brown; children, Tracy Vance and partner, Chuck Walker, Michael Arnold Brown and partner, Judy Candler all of Morganton, and Christopher Curtis Brown of Drexel; grandchildren, Andrew Jones and wife, Taylor, Aimee Jones, Zachary Brown, Alexander Jones, Karli Brown, Emily Vance, Brylee Brown, and Joseph Hensley; siblings, Clyde Brown, Daryl Brown, Jean Taylor, Shirley Moody, and Iris Suddreth.
The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m., Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Conway’s Chapel Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the church with Rev. Steven Curtis officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
