Claudia Christine Lane, a beloved member of the Lane Family, passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on February 25, 2025. She was born in Morganton, North Carolina, and was the cherished daughter of the late Martha Jane Lane.
A proud graduate of Freedom High School, Claudia took her early passion for service to the next level by joining the United States Air Force. During her distinguished service, she was primarily stationed in Korea and Hawaii, where she made lifelong friendships and demonstrated her unwavering commitment to her country.
After her time in the military, Claudia furthered her education by earning multiple degrees, showcasing her dedication to knowledge and personal growth. She began a fulfilling career at Duke Power Company, where she dedicated over 30 years of her life and earned the respect and admiration of her colleagues through her hard work and professionalism.
Claudia was known not only for her career accomplishments but also for her remarkable love of animals. A strong advocate for their welfare, she worked to promote animal rights and support local shelters, embodying her belief that every creature deserves care and compassion. She is survived by her beloved four-legged companion, Angel, who brought her great joy and comfort throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Martha Jane Lane; her grandmother, Margaret Cobb Lane; her grandfather, Jessie Daniel Lane; her uncles, (Papa) Robert Edward Lane of Morganton and Harold Cobb of Spokane, Washington; and her aunt, Jean Lane, wife of Albert Lane.
Claudia is survived by her loving aunt, (Nanny) Carolyn Lane wife of Robert Lane; her uncles, Albert Leon Lane and Roger Lane, and his wife Debbie Lane; aunt Brenda Lane of Spruce Pine and her dear cousins, Kimberly Lane Hodgson, Michele Lane Greene, Angela Lane Hensley, Sandy Lane, and Jeffery Lane and extended -cousins Shelia Bell and Allen Bell
She is also survived by many cousins, all of whom will cherish the memories of her warmth, humor, and kindness.
A graveside celebration of Claudia’s life will take place at Burke Memorial Park with family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Claudia’s memory may be made to a local animal welfare organization, honoring her passionate dedication to the care and protection of animals.
Claudia Christine Lane will be deeply missed but will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
