Clifford "Cliff" Dale

Clifford "Cliff" Dale, Sr. 70, of Crawley Dale Street, Morganton, NC went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Monday, June 15, 2009. Born in Burke County, NC on September 28, 1938, he was the son of the late Thomas Roscoe Dale and Onie Lee Keever Dale. Cliff was a charter member of Grace Baptist Church. He worked the majority of his life as a truck driver, having worked for his neighbor and friend, James Wellman, and Western Hatcheries.Cliff is survived by his son, Tim Dale and wife, Vicky, of Morganton; daughters, Lesia Moses and husband, Rick, and Lori Benton and husband, Dwain, all of Morganton; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Roseman of Morganton; a brother, Tom Dale of Morganton; sisters, Hazel Nantz of Morganton, Dot Lee of Shelby, NC, Callie Mae Small of Morganton, Lillie Chisholm of Morganton, Margaret Townsend of Morganton, and Faye Laws of Morganton; ten grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.In addition to his parents, Cliff was preceded in death by sons, Rick S. Dale and Clifford R. Dale, Jr.; and a granddaughter, Jessica Leigh Benton.The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at Grace Baptist Church with Reverends Marty Bess and Burl Sain officiating. Burial will follow in Mull’s Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Grace Baptist Church from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service. Sossoman Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
