Clora Ellen Self Bruns

Clora Ellen Self Bruns, 80, of Morganton, NC, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, June 14, 2016. Born in Burke County on December 3, 1935, she was the daughter of the late William Lester Self and Ethel Louetha Lingerfelt Self.
Mrs. Bruns was a member of Catawba Valley Baptist Church and dearly loved her church. She was a caring mother and Nana. As a previous owner and operator of a restaurant, Mrs. Bruns enjoyed cooking and baking, especially for her family.
Mrs. Bruns is survived by her children, Fritz “Bo” Charles Bruns, Jr. and wife, Debbie, William “Slick” Keith Bruns and wife, Kristi, all of Morganton, and Angela Bruns Ramsey and husband, Bob of Valdese; and grandchildren, Matt Bruns, Charlie Bruns, Sydney Houk, and Chelsea Bruns. She is also survived by a brother, W.L. Self, Jr. and wife, Donna; sisters, Norma Blackburn and husband, R.V. and Leona Suttle and husband, Wayne; and a number of nephews and nieces.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bruns was preceded in death by her husband, Fritz Charles Bruns, Sr.
The family and friends will receive friends from 11:30 – 1:00, Friday, June 17, 2016 at Catawba Valley Baptist Church. The funeral will be held at 1:00 in the church with Rev. David Orders officiating. Entombment will follow at the Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum.
