Clyde E. Franklin

Clyde E. Franklin, 74, of Foxridge Drive, Connelly Springs, NC, died Saturday, February 23, 2008 at his residence. Born in Avery County, NC on November 4, 1933, he was the son of the late Carl Henry Franklin and Clara Weatherman Franklin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Franklin, and a sister, Faye Norman. Clyde was a member of Cross Memorial Baptist Church.He is survived by his wife, Sarah Angela Johnson Franklin of the home; a son, Eddie Franklin, Jr. of Shelby, NC; a daughter, Brenda Franklin Richard and husband, Allen, of Shelby; a sister, Virginia Shuffler of Morganton; three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 26, 2008 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Whisnant officiating. Entombment will follow in Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
