Clyde H. Dula

Clyde H. Dula, 98, of Ridge Street, Rutherford College, NC died Saturday, May 17, 2008 at Britthaven of Morganton following a period of declining health. Born on April 9, 1910 in Caldwell County, NC, he was the son of the late Alfus Dula and Martha Mays Dula. He was a member of Connelly Springs First Baptist Church and a retired employee of Valdese Manufacturing.Clyde is survived is survived by his wife, Lettie Smith Dula of the home; nephews, Thad Harrison of Hildebrand, Arnold Hamlet of Montreat, VA, and Wayne Moore of Eakert CO; nieces, Billie Sue Byron of Gainsville, FL and Aileen Corpening of Granite Falls, NC; his special nephews and niece, Jack and Jim Harrison and Maxine Childres, all of Hildebran; a number of great nephews and nieces; and great-great-nephews and nieces.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Etta Hamrick and Lena Moore; and a brother, Edward Dula.The family would like to give a special thanks to Burke County Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc. and Britthaven of Morganton.The graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 19, 2008 at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Granite Falls, NC with Rev. Phillip Hawkins officiating. The body will lie in state at Sossoman Funeral Home on Sunday from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. and on Monday from 8:30 am until noon. At other times the family will be at the residence in Rutherford College.
