Clyde Pruitt

Clyde Pruitt, 73, of Connelly Springs, NC, passed away unexpectedly to be with his Lord and Savior onTuesday, August 30, 2022.

Born in Burke County, NC on July 28, 1949, he was the son of Dock and Sharlene Chapman Pruiett and Edison and Ruby Pruitt.  Clyde was a member of Bible Gospel Baptist Church and retired from Burke Mills with over 28 years of service.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved spending time with family and friends.

Those left to cherish his memory include his brothers, Glenn Pruiett (Connie), Perry Pruitt (Angela), Michael Pruitt (Wendy), and Alvin Pruitt (Patsy); sisters, Faye Hamby (Philip) and Brenda Dionne; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

In addition to his parents, Clyde was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy York Pruitt; brother, Howard Pruitt; and sisters, Bonnie Fredell, Dorothy Cook, and Ella Lowman (Joey).

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Friday, September 2, 2022 at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church.  The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. in the church with Pastors Randy Cook and Mat Holman officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
