Clyde Winfred “Wint” Garrison, 86, of Morganton, NC died Thursday, July 31, 2014. Born in Burke County, NC on August 9, 1927, he was the son of the late Ernest Ervin Garrison and Ora Geneva Stroup Garrison. Wint was a member of Salem United Methodist Church.
Mr. Garrison is survived by his wife, Doris Mae McGhinnis Garrison of the home; and a son, Stephen Garrison and his wife, Phyllis, of Morganton. In addition to his parents, Wint was preceded in death by two brothers, Jim and Guy Garrison.
The graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, August 3, 2014 at Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Abby Kocher officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 1721 Enon Road, Valdese, NC 28690. Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
