Colean B. Mull

Colean B. Mull, 97, of Morganton, NC died Tuesday, August 13, 2013. Born in Burke County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Plato Brittain and Mary Duckworth Brittain. Colean was a lifelong, active member of Bethel United Methodist Church. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed gardening. She had a love of giving and was a fan of the Atlanta Braves."Mamaw," as she was known by her family and friends, is survived by her granddaughter, Faith Schmitt and her husband, Tom, of Morganton, and her son, Wyatt Green and his wife, Shanna. Mamaw is also survived by her grandson, Joey Mull and his wife, Lisa, of Morganton, and their children Joseph, Arianna, Kelton, and Jaycee Mull; and four nieces.In addition to her parents, Colean was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Livingston Mull; their son, Rex O. Mull; and siblings, Ervin Brittain, Glenn Brittain, Bream Brittain, Winton Brittain, Letty Cooper, Zeppie Brown, Mozelle Kincaid, and Estelle Mull.The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, August 16, 2013 at Bethel United Methodist Church on Bethel Road with the Rev. Butch Osborne officiating. Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday from 1:30 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at Bethel United Methodist Church.Memorial contributions may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church, 1328 Bethel Road, Morganton, NC 28655.Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
