Connie Beck Farr

Connie Beck Farr, 78, of, Morganton, NC died Sunday, June 7, 2009 at Grace Hospital. Born in Burke County, NC on July 25, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Wiss Monroe Beck and Bertha Clontz Beck. Connie was an active member of First Baptist Church where she was active in the W.M.U.M., the Agape Sunday School Class, and the First Baptist Women’s Bible Study Group. She was a former member of Morganton Advent Christian Church. She was also a member of the Morganton Women’s Club and a former member of the Eastern Star, Mimosa Chapter 269.Connie is survived by her sons, Gaston Farr and wife, Kim, of Lewisville, NC and Deryl Farr and wife, Patti, of Charleston, SC; and grandchildren, Aaron Smith and Bethany Farr.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Manford G. Farr, Sr.; brothers, Otis Beck, Charles Beck, Ned Beck, and Doug Beck; and sisters, Eula McMahon and Ada Walker.The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Thomas A. Bland, Jr. officiating. Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday in the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain, NC. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Sossoman Funeral Home where the body will remain until placed in the church thirty minutes prior to the funeral hour.
