Cora Clark

Cora Clark, 86, of Valdese, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 28, 2022.

Born in Burke County, NC on April 15, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Lonzo Henson and Ferry Avery Henson.  Cora was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church.  She enjoyed reading and loved her family.

Cora is survived by her daughter, Barbara Branch (Steve); granddaughter, Tonia Laws; grandson, Joshua Branch (Jessica); great-grandchildren, Daisey Laws, Anna Laws, Savannah Branch, Scarlett Branch, and Sophie Branch; sister, Christine Swanson; and numerous nieces.

In addition to her parents, Cora was preceded in death by her husband, Howard McKinley Clark; daughter, Loretta Clark Lackey; brothers, Ray and John Henson; sisters, Sadie Wheeler and Faye Harding; and numerous nephews.

The funeral will be held at noon, Friday, September 2, 2022 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home.  The graveside service will follow in Burke Memorial Park.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
