Cornelia Proctor Johnson

Cornelia Proctor Johnson, 91, of Glen Alpine, NC went to her heavenly home on Thursday, August 18, 2022.

Born in McDowell County, NC on November 5, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Jasper Stokes Proctor and Bessie Rhymer Proctor.  Cornelia was a member of Glen Alpine First Baptist Church.  She loved her family, cooking, reading, sewing, traveling, and camping.  Mrs. Johnson retired from Drexel Heritage.  She made fried apple pies with her husband, and she will be missed by all.

Cornelia is survived by her sons, Steve Johnson (Sharon) and Joe Johnson (Tracy); daughter, Sarah Franklin; grandchildren, Jenny Currie (Neil), Dawn Foster (Erick), and Justin Bollinger; and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband, James Arney Johnson; brothers, Marshall and Bill Proctor; and son-in-law, Clyde Franklin.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., Monday, August 22, 2022 at Sossoman Funeral Home.  The graveside service will follow at 12:30 p.m., Monday at Burke Memorial Park with Rev. John Terry officiating.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
