CSM Bouldin Wade Duffey, US Army Retired, 80, of Phenix City, AL passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2016. Born in Charlotte County, VA on February 29, 1936, he was the son of the late Arthur Sidney Duffey and Fannie Newcomb Duffey.
Bouldin retired from the U.S. Army after 30 years of service, including a tour in the Korean War and two tours in the Vietnam War. He was awarded two Purple Hearts, a Silver Star, four Bronze Stars, and various other awards of recognition for his service.
Mr. Duffey was an avid fisherman and hunter, and he enjoyed the beach and mountains. He loved horses and enjoyed building race cars.
Bouldin is survived by his wife of 60 years, Nana Bridgers Duffey of the home; children, Pam Baker of Columbus, GA, David Duffey of Phenix City, Steven Duffey and his wife, Kathleen, of Crestview, FL, and John Duffey of Phenix City; grandchildren, Stephanie and her husband, David, Ben and his wife, Alison, David II, A.J., Erica and her husband, Bryan, Cierra, Heather, and John II; a sister, Josephine Good of Lenoir, NC; and a number of nephews and nieces.
In addition to his parents, Bouldin was preceded in death by three brothers, Willie, Chester, and Ollie; and three sisters, Eva, Doris, and Barbara.
The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m., Friday, April 8, 2016 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 9 in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Burt Williams officiating. Entombment will follow at Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum with military honors provided by the N.C. National Guard.
