Curley Rich Epley, 93, of Kathy Road, Morganton, NC, died Wednesday, December 7, 2005 at her residence. Born in McDowell County, NC on November 9, 1912, she was a daughter of the late David Henry Rich and Callie Roxanna Lane Rich. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest "Dock" Epley, five brothers, and one great-grandchild. She was a member of Morganton Seventh day Adventist Church. Curley and Dock owned and operated Epley’s Grocery for many years.
Mrs. Epley is survived by her two daughters, Maxine Epley of Morganton, Doris Epley Brown and husband, Merlin, of Laurel, MD; sisters, Hazel Pritchard and Florence Williams of Morganton; grandchildren; Warren Brown of Laurel, MD, Linde Zimmer of Middletown, MD, and Muriel Nieto of Laurel, MD; and 12 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, December 11, 2005 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Elder Tim Sheridan officiating. Burial will follow in the Seventh day Adventist Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. At other times the family will be at the residence on Kathy Road.
