Daniel "Danny" Henson

Daniel "Danny" Henson, 66, of Morganton, NC departed this life unexpectedly at 3:15 p.m., Sunday, March 2, 2014 at the residence with his family by his side. Born October 30, 1947 in Kingstree, SC, Danny was a son of the late Clyde Calvin Henson and Geraldine Wiik Henson. Danny was a faithful member of Table Rock Seventh-day Adventist Church. Danny had been a staple in his community having worked as the manager of Brentwood Water Corporation for over 35 years and also at Giles Motors. He enjoyed spending time working with his tractor, hunting, and fishing, and being with his family. Danny dedicated his entire life to helping care for his family, friends, and community.A loving and faithful husband, father, and friend to many, Danny is survived by his wife of over 40 years, Rachel Autry Henson of the home; sons, Devin Henson and wife, Elisabeth, and Darus Henson, all of Morganton; his beloved canine companion, Molly; siblings, Steve M. Henson, Kenneth Henson, Ruth Merrell, Mary Cagle, and Linda Henson; and fourteen beloved nieces and nephews. Danny will be deeply missed by his family and everyone that knew him.In addition to his parents, Danny was preceded in death by siblings, Rachel D. Henson and Frank Henson.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 6, 2014 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center. Burial will follow at Seventh-day Adventist Church Cemetery.
