Daniel Roberts, Sr., 72, of Morganton, NC, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, January 24, 2020. He was born on August 1, 1947 in El Dorado, AR to the late Jessy Malcolm Roberts and Ellen McNeil Roberts. Daniel was a veteran of the US Navy serving during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Brady Masonic Lodge #753 where he served as Worshipful Master and held several other positions. He also served as Worthy Patron of the Eastern Star in Little Rock. Daniel was a member of the Oasis Shrine Club in Little Rock. He was the drummer for the Bill Black Combo in Memphis, TN and the president and owner of Encore Tools and Equipment, Inc. for 35 years. Daniel was an avid sailor and boat owner and he loved sailing the lakes of Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Daniel is survived by his wife, Margaret Faye Hubbard Roberts; son, Daniel Roberts, Jr, and wife, Laura and sons, Jessy and Nathan Roberts; daughter, Shonda Roberts and her daughter, Tristen Simmons; sister, Cherise Cornett and husband, Craig.
A graveside service will be at 12 noon, Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with the Rev. Dana KcKim officiating. Military honors will be provided by the US Navy and Masonic Rites will be provided by Catawba Valley Lodge #217.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
