Daniel Thomas Strauss

Daniel Thomas Strauss, 80, of Hidden Lake Park Way, Nebo, NC died Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at Burke Palliative Care Center in Valdese, NC following a period of declining health. He was born February 14, 1929 in Queens County, New York, and was the son of the late Moses Strauss and Anne Martin Strauss. Daniel attended Hopewell Baptist Church.He is survived by sons, Danny Strauss and wife, Becky, of Morganton, and Kenny Strauss of St. Augustine, FL; daughters, Susan Strauss of Stuart, FL, Eileen Smith and husband, Terry, of Titusville, FL, and Patti Madeiros and husband, John, of Tullahoma, TN; grandchildren, Jason Smith, Elizabeth Smith, Kimberly Madeiros, Johnny Madeiros, Daniel Strauss, and Karen Strauss; and a great-granddaughter, Brinadette Smith.A memorial service will be held at a later date. Sossoman Funeral Service is assisting the family with arrangements.
