Danny Adkins

Danny Adkins, 67, of Morganton, NC died Monday, November 25, 2013. Born in Mt. Airy, NC on February 28, 1946, he was the son of Jimison Sutphin Adkins of Morganton and the late Lonnie Adkins. Danny was of the Baptist faith.He is survived by his wife, Hilda Taylor Adkins of the home; a daughter, Melissa Ford and her husband, Tracy, of Morganton; grandchildren, Gabrielle Ford, Zachary Ford, Alyshia Adkins, and Bradley Adkins; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Sylvia Adkins Corbett of Charlotte, NC and Ruth Lydick and her husband, Frayne, of Goodview, VA; and a brother, Eric Adkins and his wife, Laverne, of Durham, NC.In addition to his father, Danny was preceded in death by a son, Gary Wayne Adkins.The memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Brookwood Baptist Church with the Rev. Earl Cross officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
