Danny Allen Reece

Danny Allen Reece, 66, of Morganton, died Friday, February 14, 2014. He was born in Burke County on June 11, 1947 and was the son of the late T. M. Reece and Myrtle Martin Reece. Danny was a U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam conflict earning the rank of E5 and receiving the Purple Heart. He was retired from Leviton-Southern Devices and was a member of Mt. Home Baptist Church.Danny was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who brought much joy and laughter to his family. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Brenda Calvin Reece of the home; daughters and their husbands, Teresa Reece Burns and Terry, Cindy Reece Grainger and Curt, and Stephanie Reece Culp and Andy, all of Morganton; grandchildren, Terry Burns, Jr. and his fiancée, Jordie, Mark Burns and wife, Kelly, Mason Grainger, Courtney, Grainger, and Madyson Grainger, Brooklyn Culp, Maddox Culp, and Deacon Culp; great-grandchildren, Calen and Elijah Burns and Kylyn Gassner; and his four furbabies.The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m.Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at Mt. Home Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Gamble officiating. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park with military honors by the NC National Guard. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Monday at Sossoman Funeral Home. At other times the family will be at the residence. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt.
