Danny D. Lackey

Danny D. Lackey, 48, of Morganton passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 11, 2018.  Born in Burke County, NC on October 19, 1970, he was the son of Danny Lane Lackey (Linda) and Peggy B. Snipes (Vernon), all of Morganton.  Danny had attended Arney’s Fairview United Methodist Church and was currently employed with Triangle Heating and Air.  Known as “Little Danny,” he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping.  He was a kind person who loved everyone, especially his family, and will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Danny is survived by his children, Brittany, Brandon, and Lindsay Lackey; grandchildren, Carter and Bryson Lackey; fiancée, Susan Greene; Susan’s son, Jake; brothers, Jason Lackey, Cory Lackey, and Darrell Duckworth; sisters, Brandy Buchanan (Jeff) and Kim Powell (Travis); and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, November 15, 2018 at Sossoman Funeral Home.  The funeral will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, November 16 at Arney’s Fairview United Methodist Church with Rev. Ed Stephenson officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
