Danny K. Womack, 63 of Morganton, NC, died Wednesday, September 30, 2015. He was born on October 2, 1951 in Burke County to the late Frankie Lee Womack and Annie Belle Wiggins Womack. He was a lifelong member of Mt. Home Baptist Church. He graduated from Morganton High School and retired from Broughton Hospital. Danny was an avid reader and a history buff. He was a veteran of the United States Army.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Kathy Womack of the home; sons, Jonathan C. “Jon” Womack of Morganton and Daniel J. Womack, a student at Western Carolina University. He also leaves behind his faithful canine companions, Tracy, Misty and Raggs.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Mt. Home Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Gamble, the Rev. David Orders, and Mr. Rocky Hartman officiating. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Friday, October 2, 2015 at Sossoman Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Home Baptist Church Angel Tree Ministry or to the Graceful Giving Fund, both are at 2272 Mt. Home Church Road, Morganton, NC 28655.
