Darrell Dean Buckland

Darrell Dean Buckland, 70 of Valdese, NC died Thursday, February 13, 2014 at his residence. Born December 23, 1943 in Summer County, WV, he was a son of the late Frank Patrick Buckland and Ethel Mae Tolley Buckland. Darrell was a U.S. Army veteran and had owned and operated several accounting firms.Darrell is survived by his children, Kevin D. Buckland and his wife, Christie, of Morganton, Kimberly Jo Buckland Dale and her husband, Michael, of Morganton, and Ashley E. Buckland and husband, Josh DelConte, of Little River, SC; grandchildren, Matthew and Chris Buckland, Miranda and Kristina Dale, and Carter DelConte; brothers, Jerol and Gary Buckland; and sisters, Joyce Rhodes and Linda Greenleaf.In addition to his parents, Darrell was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank Buckland, Jr. and Jack Buckland; and a sister, Virginia Meador.A graveside service will be held at 1pm, Monday, February 17, 2014 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Van Buchanan officiating and military honors by the N. C. National Guard and the Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard.Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
