David Alan Abee

David Alan Abee, 48, of Gouge Ave., Morganton, NC died Friday, June 11, 2010. Born in Burke County, NC on July 5, 1961, he was the son of Gladys Ann Lail Abee and the late David Delain Abee. David was a member of Abee’s Grove Baptist Church. He worked as a corrections officer at the Western Youth Institute. He was an Eagle Scout and a member of the National Rifle Association.In addition to his mother, David is survived by his wife, Sharon Shook Abee of Glen Alpine, NC; a son, Jeremy Alan Abee of Rutherford College, NC; a daughter, Jamie Elizabeth Abee and fiancée, Jesse McLean, of Rutherford College; a granddaughter, Amanda "Fireball" McLean; a brother, Barry Olin Abee and wife, Fern, of Morganton; and step-children, Krislyn and Clayton Huffman.The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at Abee’s Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Rudy Hayes officiating and honor-guard provided by corrections officers. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
