David “Bryan” Wilson, 59, of Morganton, NC passed away at his home, Sunday, August 1, 2021 after years of declining health. Bryan was born on November 25, 1961 in McDowell County to the late Bobby Franklin Wilson and Mary Carolyn McMahan Wilson. Bryan was a member of Souls Harvest Ministry. He loved to make thing out of wood. He earned the nickname “What Knot.” Bryan worked at Drexel Heritage Plants 33, 7, 3, 5 & 60 for years. When they closed, he went to work at Kellix and then Thomasville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Roger Dale Wilson and Roderick “Owl” Alan Wilson; grandson, Jace Charles Calloway.
Bryan is survived by his wife, Mary “Tootie” Wilson of Morganton; daughter, Bridget Wilson of Hickory, Ashly Sluder-Wilson of Besser City; sons, Gregory Allen Shell of the home, Joseph Shell of Hickory; sisters, Teresa Newton of Morganton, Deann “Renee” Wilson of Morganton; brother, Keith Wilson (Darlene) of Morganton; and an extra special niece “Jasmine Cole” sweetie you brought so many smiles to my face. Jasmine you loved me like no other child has before. Watch over my Honey Bunny, and a number of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flower, memorial contributions may be made to Sossoman Funeral Home to help the family with funeral expenses.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
