David Eugene Whisnant

David Eugene Whisnant, 60 of Morganton, NC died unexpectedly of a heart attack Wednesday, January 31, 2018. He was born September 23, 1957 in Burke County, NC and was the son of the late Levi Whisnant and Martha Jane Powell Whisnant. David was a hard working and a loving man. He was of the Christian faith and a servant of the Lord.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings, Levi, Jr., Doris, Steve, Arnold and Stacey.

He is survived by his wife Shelia C. Whisnant of the home; children, Travis Whisnant and wife, Crystal and Kristin Belanger and husband, Joey all of Morganton; grandchildren, Lacey, Ryan, Jaycee and Cara; siblings, Trish, Jerry and wife, Debbie, Geraldine and husband, Deryll, Connie and husband, Darrell, Annie and husband, Ronnie and Mike and wife, Renee; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 4:30 p.m., Saturday, February 3, 2018 at First Assembly of God.  A celebration of life service will be held at 4:30 p.m. in the church with Rev. John White officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with expenses.
