David Wilson Callahan

David Wilson Callahan, 71, of Morganton, NC achieved his spirituality on Monday, September 8, 2014. Born in Buncombe County, NC on April 1, 1943, he was the son of the late Peter Callahan and Ellen Deppe Callahan. David was retired from Broughton Hospital and enjoyed reading, history and meeting people. He was a tenacious Democrat and loved old movie classics. David was caring and loving to all creatures and had a special bond with his cat, Spice "Itty-Bit".
David is survived by his wife, Brenda Carol Nelms Callahan and by his children, Sara Michelle Blauer of San Francisco, Patricia Dale Green of Washington, DC, Christopher Paul Green of Morganton, Billie Joyce Miller of San Francisco, and Peter David Callahan of Asheville.
A Celebration of Spirituality and Serenity will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 13, 2014 at The Labyrinth of Grace Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cat's Cradle, 112 Clark St., Morganton, NC or to The Watauga Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 1835, Boone, NC 28607.
