Davonta Malachi Twitty, 7, of Ferguson, NC, went to be with the Lord unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 15, 2015. He was born September 25, 2007 in McDowell County to Sampson Cain Twitty and Amber Lynn Church Twitty. Davonta was raised in the Baptist faith. He was a believer in God and was always asking questions about Jesus and Heaven. He asked Jesus to save him a few months ago. He had a big heart and was always praying for his parents. Davonta was in second grade at Mt. Pleasant Elementary School in Wilkes County.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Nakema, of the home; grandparents, Denise Pitman of Marion, NC, David Twitty of Marion, NC, and Donna and James Hart of Ferguson, NC; great-grandfather, Robert Church of Morganton, NC; aunt, Elizabeth Torlone and her husband, Anthony, of Lenoir, NC; cousins, Braiden Torlone, Kyler Fix, Liam Torlone, and Mason Torlone.
He was preceded in death by his uncle, Joseph Quiton.
The funeral service will be at 3:00pm, Saturday, September 19, 2015 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Ellington officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Murphy Chapel in Marion, NC.
