Dean Penley, 70, of Morganton, NC, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 1, 2025.
Born in Buncombe County, NC on October 2, 1954, he was the son of the late Samuel Penley, Sr. and Frances Sara Austin Penley.
Dean worked in textile manufacturing and was a manager for the Flynn Home in Morganton. He was a disabled veteran of the US Army.
Dean is survived by his son, Keye Penley; and several siblings.
In addition to his parents, Dean was preceded in death by his brother, Samuel Penley, Jr.; and his former wife, Monda Penley.
Family and friends will gather at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery at 12 p.m., Thursday, February 20, 2025.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
