Deanna Mace Bowman

Deanna Mace Bowman, 46, of Morganton NC went to be with her Lord, Jesus, early on the morning of Saturday, November 26, 2011. She courageously lived with declining health for nearly fourteen years without complaining. Her faith in Jesus was evident in her humor and love for family. Deanna was born June 22, 1965. She made her home with her step-dad, Rev. Phillip King, and her mother, Joann Mace King, and son, Lucas Bowman. For the last four years she made us laugh and cry through her pain.Deanna loved to read, talk, listen to church sermons, and watch ?The Waltons.? Though her health limited her ability to travel, it did not keep her from being interested and praying for her Grace Baptist Church. Deanna was a good mother and grandmother who loved showing pictures of her children and grandchildren.Deanna is survived by her husband, Jay Bowman; a son, Lucas Dean Bowman of Yonkers, NY; daughters, Rachel Bowman and Kayla Bowman, both of Morganton; grandchildren, Austin Phillip Canipe and Ava Grace Canipe, both of Morganton; a brother, Greg Mace of Morganton; a sister, Pam Fox and husband, Eddie, of Morganton; nephews, DeWayne, Joseph, Jacob, and Tyler Mace; and niece, Crystal Fox.Deanna was preceded in death by her father, Dean Mace; paternal grandparents, Robert and Maggie Mace; and her maternal grandparents, Robert and Rachel Stewart.The funeral will be held at 3:30 p.m., Monday, November 28, 2011 at Grace Baptist Church with Reverends Marty Bess and Phillip King officiating. Burial will follow in Mull?s Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
