Debora Vess Norman

Debora Vess Norman, 56, of Morganton went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 9, 2019.  Born in Toledo, OH on May 14, 1962, she was the daughter of Wanda Sue Vess Gilbert and the late Edward Phifer Gilbert.  Debora was a loving mother and grandmother who loved her family dearly.  She enjoyed making family trips to the beach and being at home with her family.

Debora is survived by her sons, Derek E. Norman and Brandon E. Norman; grandson, Hayden Cole Norman; siblings, Mike Gilbert Morganton, Gloria Gilbert of Morganton, Sandy Laffey of Toledo, and Shelly Carwile of Bryan, OH; and a niece, Kristie Laffey of Toledo.

In addition to her parents, Debora was preceded in death by a sister, Tina Gilbert.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 5 p.m., Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at Sossoman Funeral Home.  The graveside service will follow at 5:15 p.m. in Forest Hill Cemetery with Rev. Chris Dale officiating. 

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
