Deborah Carswell Powell

Deborah Carswell Powell, 57, of Morganton, NC went to be with her Heavenly Father and her mother, the late Sarah Alice Huffman Hayes, on Monday, May 5, 2014. Born March 1, 1957 in Flint, MI, Deborah was a daughter of Jimmy Carswell of Flint, Michigan. She enjoyed working with computers, and was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother.In addition to her father, Deborah is survived by her husband, Manley Powell of the home; children, Shannon Wishon and wife, Stacy Swift Wishon of Boone, NC; and Kelly Wishon of Kansas; step-children, Glynis Maria Fleming of Connelly Springs, NC; Regina Kim Sanders of Gamewell, NC, and Darren Moody of Valdese, NC; four grandchildren; and sisters, Phyllis Buff of Hickory, NC and Sandra Stevens of New York.Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 7, 2014 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center with Pastor Calvin Hargett officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
