Delorise Ferree Ewell, 90, of Morganton, NC passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at her residence. Born in Burke County, NC on May 20, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Walter Eugene Ferree and Donnie Lejinea Hawkins Ferree. Delorise was a devoted member of Mt. Home Baptist Church. She retired from Western Carolina Center with at least 30 years of service. Mrs. Ewell was an avid gardener and loved the outdoors.
Delorise is survived by her brother, Ned Ferree and his companion, Charlotte Harrell, of N. Myrtle Beach, SC; a nephew, Brad Ferree; grandnieces, Debbie Hamby, Tracy Wilson, Crystal Smith, Aimee Marler, Emma Ferree, and Hannah Ferree; a special great-grandnephew, Tyler Williams; and many other great-grandniblings.
In addition to her parents, Delorise was preceded in death by a sister, Aileen Williams; and two nephews, Robert and Ralph Williams.
The graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Mt. Home Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Jerry Gamble officiating.
