Derril M. Clark

Derril M. Clark, 66, died Friday, May 23, 2014. He was born in Burke County, NC on November 13, 1947 and was a son of the late Postell Clingman Clark and Annie Byrd Clark. Derril was a retired employee of Broughton Hospital and a member of New Manna Baptist Church in Marion. He was a devoted Christian who was a loving father and grandfather. Derril enjoyed fishing and hunting.He is survived by his son, Eddie Clark and his wife, Karen, of Morganton; granddaughters, Courtney Marie and Rebecca LeAnne Clark; and a sister, Maxine Taylor of Morganton.In addition to his parents, Derril was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Ingram Clark; brothers, Robert and Paul Clark; and by a sister, Mary Erb.The funeral will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday, May 26, 2014 at Shining Light Baptist Church with Pastors Danny Castle and Bruce Ward officiating. Burial will follow at Westview Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Shining Light on Monday one hour before the service. At other times the family will be at the home Paul Clark on Morrison Loop, Morganton.Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family.
