Dianne S. Whisnant

Dianne S. Whisnant, 53, of Morganton died Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at the Burke Palliative Care Center. Born in Buncombe County, NC on May 12, 1960, she was the daughter of the late Bill Flynn; Edna Jane Clawson Smith and Robert Lee Smith.Dianne is survived by her husband, Carl Whisnant of the home; a brother-in-law, Barry Whisnant of Morganton; a sister-in-law, Agnes Collins of Morganton; an uncle, John Clawson of San Diego, CA; aunts, Ella Mae Moses of Morganton, Alice Jones of Asheville, NC, and Rose Miller of Foley, AL; and a number of nieces.In addition to her parents, Dianne was preceded in death by her son, Jason Daniel Whisnant, and her sister, Brenda Lee Smith.The memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m., Sunday, October 13, 2013 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Chaplain Larry Cronk officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 until 5:00 p.m.
