Dock S. White

Dock S. White, 70, of Morganton, NC, died Monday, October 13, 2008 at Grace Heights Nursing Facility. Born in Cleveland County, NC on May 10, 1938, he was the son of the late Marvin White and Ethel Luckadoo White. Dock was a member of Cross Memorial Baptist Church. He taught himself how to play the guitar and loved country and gospel music.Dock is survived by his wife, Edith Morris White of the home; brothers, Buren White of Morganton, John H. White and wife, Selma, of Morganton, Joe White and wife, Sis, of Casar, NC, and Harold White of Jacksonville, FL; and a sister, Carrie Powell and husband, Tom, of Morganton.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Ralph White and Worth White; and sisters, Mozzell Halton and Gynnell Cook.The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 15, 2008 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. Clyde Buckner officiating. Entombment will follow in Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
