Dolly Mae Parker

Dolly Mae Parker, 87 of Morganton, NC died Saturday, October 22, 2016. Dolly was born July 22, 1929 in Catawba County, NC to the late Richard Roby Byers and Mamie Ett Hollar Byers. She was very independent and was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed working in her flower garden. Dolly was a member at Mt. Home Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brother, Jack Byers and grandson, Keith Ray Parker.
She is survived by son, Keith Nick Parker and wife, Dixie of Newton; daughter, Janice Parker Collins and husband, Jackie of Candler; brother, R.J. Byers of Valdese; grandchildren, Connie Parker Wallace and husband, Rusty, Johnathan Mark Collins and wife, Shannon, and Jeremy David Collins and wife, Kara; and ten great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, October 30, 2016 at Mt. Home Baptist Church. A memorial service will follow at 4:00 p.m. at the church with Rev. Jerry Gamble officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Graceful Giving (Mt. Home Building Fund), 2272 Mount Home Church Rd., Morganton, NC 28655.
