Donna Denton Buchanan

Donna Denton Buchanan, 55, of Connelly Springs, NC went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 3, 2017.  Born in Burke County, NC on December 2, 1961, she was the daughter of the late Roy Lee Denton and Judy Ellen White.  Mrs. Buchanan was a devoted and loving wife who loved spending time with her family.  She loved to grow flowers and visit the beach but her heart was in the mountains.  Donna was always smiling and always had a kind word for everyone she met.

Mrs. Buchanan is survived by her husband, Scott Buchanan of the home; brother, Tommy Denton and wife, Debra, of Morganton; sister, Debra Denton of Wilmington, NC; nephews, Jonathan Denton and wife, Heather, of Morganton and Chris Denton and wife, Katie, of Wilmington; a niece, Alisha Denton Hildebran and husband, Jason, of Connelly Springs, NC; special family friend, Grady Ledford; and numerous aunts, uncles, and extended family.

In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her step-mother, Linda Sue Denton.

The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 pm, Friday, April 7, 2017 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center.  The funeral will be held at 1 pm in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Shawn Thomas officiating.  Burial will follow at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
