Dora "Betty" Holbrook

Dora “Betty” Holbrook, 75, of Morganton, NC died Tuesday, December 15, 2015.  Born in Craighead County, AR on May 16, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Robert Woodrow Barrow and Cordie Burrow Barrow. 

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, John Alvin Holbrook, Sr.; and siblings, Kathleen Founier, David Barrow, and Aubrey Barrow.

Mrs. Holbrook is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Holbrook Mullarney and her husband, Mike, of Winter Park, FL; her son, John A. Holbrook, Jr. and his wife, Debra, of Morganton; grandchildren, Daniel Tubito, Mike John Mullarney, Leslie Holbrook Conrad and her husband, James, Ryan Mullarney and his wife, Ann-Marie, and John A. “Trey” Holbrook, III and his wife, Shelby; six great-grandchildren; and siblings, Carlene “Corky” Turner Belonzi of CA, Rita Barrow of AZ, and Robert Barrow and his wife, Jan, of MT.

Betty was a member of New Day Christian Church and dearly loved her church family.  She leaves behind a legacy of “Nana Quilts.”

The family will receive friends from 12 – 1 p.m., Friday, December 18, 2015 at New Day Christian Church.  The funeral will be held at the church at 1 p.m. with the Rev. George Logan officiating.  Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.  The family will gather at the home of Mrs. Holbrook after the burial.
