Doris Ann Hyatt Wike

Doris Ann Hyatt Wike, 52 of Morganton, died Friday, July 18, 2014. Born in Burke County, NC on January 2, 1962, she was the daughter of the late Buster Hyatt and Bertha Mae Hubbard Hyatt. She worked at Magnolia Lane Nursing Home for 16 years and loved the residences there. Doris was of the Baptist Faith and loved all animals. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Kenny Hyatt. Doris is survived by daughter, Tonya Hyatt of Morganton; brothers, Jimmy Hyatt, of Morganton, Roy Hyatt and wife, Audrey of, Hudson, Johnny Hyatt and wife Carla, of Morganton, Dennis Hyatt and wife, Lou, of Hudson and Bobby Hyatt, of Morganton; sister, Cathy Edwards and husband, Kenneth of Morganton; nieces, Rebecca Griffith, Lisa Lail and Nikki Hardwood, all of Morganton, great nephews, Robert "Thumper" Lail and Bryce Griffith; great niece, Kendall Griffith and great-great niece, .McKenleigh Lail. The funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Monday, July 21, 2014 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center with Reverends John Smiley and Francis Tate officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
