Doris Moody Head

Doris Moody Head, 79, of Morganton, NC died Sunday, June 3, 2012 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis, NC. Born on November 13, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Gilmer Hoyle Moody and Myrtle Lee Hollifield Moody. Doris was a graduate of the Grace Hospital’s School of Nursing. She was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church where she was in charge of the Clothes Closet, was a former teacher in the preschool, and also assisted her husband with the formation of the Shepherd’s Kitchen.Doris is survived by her daughter, Elaine Head Fuge and her husband, Dave, of Concord, NC; grandsons, Jordan Taylor of Wilmington, NC and Jamison Taylor of Waxsaw, NC; a brother, Dean Moody and wife, Betty, of Nebo; and a number of nephews and nieces.In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Henry B. Head, Jr. and a brother, Hoyle Moody.The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 7, 2012 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 407 S.
